Technology for All Americans Project

Technological Studies Series: Grades 6-8

The International Technology Education Association's (ITEA) Technology for All Americans Project is currently developing Technological Studies Series: Grades 6-8. Funded by the Technical Foundation of America, this publication will provide a tangible means to help middle schools at the state and local levels to implement
Standards for Technology Education: Content for the Study of Technology (Content Standards). This addendum will be the first in a series that will focus on assisting educators in developing curriculum based on Content Standards.

Teachers and students will be able to use this addendum as a working document. For teachers, it will provide examples and information on how to implement the technology standards into planning activities. The training and resource section will be a starting point for teachers to use for researching and developing classroom activities. Students will benefit from the fun and interesting educational activities that have practical applications. The activities are designed for students who are getting their first "taste" of technology education, as well as students who are taking full year classes in the subject. Sections of interest in the addendum will include exploring technology, invention and design, technology in action, and technological resources.

ITEA's Technology for All Americans Project anticipates the release of Technological Studies Series: Grades 6-8 in 1999.
