Mr. Roy Jacob Farris, age 93, of Salem, died Wednesday, February 28, 1990. He is survived by a granddaughter and her husband, Donna and Kermit Sanders, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Lori Sanders and Scott Sanders; sisters, Bernice Grubb, Abindgon; Eunice Miller, Roanoke; Helen Yates, Salem; Edith Tilson, Meadowview; brother, William E. Farris, Bristol, Tenn. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. Lee Jamison officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
