WRAY, CLARA L.

BOONES MILL - Mrs. Clara Leffue Wray, age 71, of Rt. 3, died Saturday, March 3, 1990, in a Roanoke hospital. She was born in Franklin County on December 7, 1918, daughter of the late Charles Haden King and Callie Holt King. She was retired from Food Services of the Boones Mill Elementary School and had also been employed as a clerk for Wood's Pharmacy. She was a member of the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Glen King; and a sister, Mrs. Bill (Bridie) Campbell. Surviving are her husband, Mr. C. Ward Wray of the residence; two sons, Glenwood A. Leffue of Boones Mill; David M. Leffue of the Snow Creek Community; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Woodrow (Pearl) James of Boones Mill; and Mrs. Wilbur K. `Jack' (Gladys) Craft of Roanoke; one brother, Clinton C. King, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert A. Miller and the Rev. Berlin G. Hanks. Burial will follow in the Franklin Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren Building Fund in care of the church. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home in Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Glenwood Leffue in Boones Mill.
