Mrs. Ruth Snead Powell Grubbs, age 88, of Richfield Nursing Center, died Tuesday evening, March 6, 1990. She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 484. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Melba Powell, Salem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Donald Griffiths, Yakima, Wash.; Josephine and Robert Guesnard, Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Minnie Fuqua, Vinton; daughter-in-law, Juanita Gibson, Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Barbara Lipscomb and Dorothy Reese, both of Vinton; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, with the Rev. Jerry W. Naff officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
