FLOYD - Ward Thomas Spangler, SR., age 88, passed away Wednesday in a Roanoke hospital. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Harman Spangler of Floyd; two sons and daughters-in-law, T. Ward, Jr. and Sylvia Spangler of Floyd; George C. and Irene Spangler of Floyd; five grandchildren, G. C. Spangler, Victoria Cannaday, Tommy Spangler, Rosemary Carr, and Kenneth Spangler, all of Floyd; six great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Floyd Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Griffin officiating with interment in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
