NATURAL GAS EXPLODES IN HIGH-RISE

An explosion in a high-rise apartment building damaged two apartment units and slightly injured one resident Wednesday night, authorities said.

Fire Department spokeswoman Jane Davidson said investigators determined a gas leak caused the blast, which occurred about 7:45 p.m. in two units of the eight-story Hunting Towers Apartments.

The explosion sent debris crashing to the street, Davidson said. There was no fire.

An unidentified woman who lives in one of the units suffered middle and lower back abrasions. - Associated Press
