IDAHO FACES BOYCOTT ON ABORTION BILL

Legislation establishing the nation's most restrictive state abortion law reached Gov. Cecil Andrus' desk Tuesday, and both camps in the abortion battle pumped up the pressure for him to sign or veto the bill.

Molly Yard, president of the National Organization for Women, said that she would urge the group to launch a boycott of all Idaho products if Andrus signs the bill.

But Allen Wildmon, associate director of the American Family Association, pledged that his members would buy more Idaho products to counter any boycott.

Andrus has until Monday morning to act unless the Legislature adjourns before then. If that happens, he has 10 more days.
