MEEK, MAE S.\ SUGAR GROVE, VA - Mrs. Mae Slemp Meek, age 84, widow of Scott Meek, died Thursday, March 29, 1990 in Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mildred M. Cox. She is survived by her son-in-law, Dr. D.B. Cox, Wytheville; four grandchildren, Mrs. Lynn Alt, Camp Hill, Pa.; Scott Cox and Steve Cox, both of Richmond; and Mrs. Martha Altekrouse, Hyattsville, Md.; one niece, Mrs. Geraldine Gallager, Roanoke; one nephew, William S. Meek, Sugar Grove; one foster son, John W. Barton, Sugar Grove; a brother-in-law, William M. Meek, Sugar Grove. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Meek Cemetery in Sugar Grove. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elizabeth United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
