NAMES ON CAMPUS/ RADFORD UNIVERSITY

EARL B. BROWN, director of the honors program, has been appointed to the publications committee of the National Collegiate Honors Conference.

\ GERALD O'MORROW, chairman of the department of recreation and leisure services, has been appointed to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as a consultant. He will review the quality of existing doctoral programs in the field of park, recreation and leisure resources at public state institutions.

\ JENNIFER SPOON, assistant professor of art, recently had two works accepted in Digital 90, a national computer art show at Glassboro State College in New Jersey.

\ JOSEPH SCARTELLI, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will have a paper published in a special fall issue of the Journal of Music Therapy focusing on music and medicine.

\ DOUGLAS WOOLLEY, professor of economics, was named acting chairman of the department. He succeeds\ BENNIE BEESON, who has returned to full-time teaching in the department.

\ BRUCE P. MAHIN, director of the Center for Music Technology, had his composition "Of Mice and Men" for vibraphone and computer performed at the Western Illinois New Music Festival.

\ FRANKLIN JONES, chairman of the physical science department, received a $41,000 grant from the state Council of Higher Education toward a spring and summer training institute for 20 Buchanan County 4th-grade through 7th-grade teachers.

\ SKIP WATTS, director of the institute for engineering geosciences, completed two environmental studies in Southwest Virginia: Giles County and the Roanoke River Parkway.\ ROBERT WHISONANT, geology department chairman, assisted Watts in the projects.
