UNWANTED ATTENTION AT RESTAURANT

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Ms. Kostelni's March 14 review of area Chinese restaurants. As a longtime fan of Chinese cooking, I have visited the majority of Roanoke Valley Chinese restaurants and totally agree with her review.

The only exception I found was with her comment about Mr. Kuo of the Hong Kong restaurant "visiting with the patrons." I thought the word "annoying" might have been more appropriate.

My experiences with him included being told what he thinks I ought to eat and drink; being put down and laughed at by him and his staff if my choice of menu did not agree with Mr. Kuo's opinion; and being constantly harassed throughout my meal with his periodic visits, trying to sell me Oriental trinkets and cheap Chinese wine at inflated prices.
