OBIT--DUNCAN
Mr. Roy Lee Duncan, age 74, formerly of Carroll County, Deep Water
Community, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 1990 at the Veterans Hospital in
Salem. He was a veteran of World War II. He was born in Carroll County, Va.,
January 24, 1916, a son of Cordle Duncan and Mattie Reece Duncan. He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Clarice Duncan; son, Kenneth Duncan, Blacksburg;
two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Lillian) Marshall, Pulaski; Mrs. Foster (Opal) White,
Dublin; granddaughter, Heather Elaine Duncan, Blacksburg. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, April 14, 1990 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, with the Dr. Vince Guerra and the
Rev. Joe Cox officiating with interment in the Captain George Quesenberry
Cemetery in Floyd County. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by
the Hillsville VFW Post #1115. The family will receive friends Friday evening,
7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
