OBIT--WALTERS
Cora Lee Walters, age 77, of Bent Mountain, passed away Wednesday evening
in a local hospital. She was a member of Lawrence Memorial Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard Lee Walters; four sons and
daughters-in-law, Luther and Betty Walters, Longwood, Fla.; Howard Walters,
Vinton; Russell Walters, Bent Mountain; and Gary and Vickie Walters, Salem;
four daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Ercil Poff, Salem; Gertie and
Joseph Manning, Roanoke; Myrtle and James Underwood, Roanoke; and Barbara and
Kenneth Conner, Pilot; a sister, Stella Clark, Copper Hill; two brothers,
Houston Smith, Pulaski; and William Smith, Radford; 14 grandchildren & 12
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday
from Oakey's South Chapel with Rev. Dan Stanley and Denise Huffman
officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Vale Cemetery, Floyd County. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to
the Bent Mountain Rescue Squad. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
