President Bush was diagnosed Thursday with "an early glaucoma" in his left eye, but he said it had not affected his vision. The glaucoma was found during his routine physical at Bethesda Naval Hospital, and will be treated with prescription eye drops, press secretary Marlin Fitzwater said.

\ Republican Party chairman Lee Atwater, 39, described as "in fighting trim," was released Thursday from a New York hospital where he was treated for a brain tumor.
