TOMS HIRED AS AD AT LYNCHBURG COLLEGE

Dr. Jack Toms was announced as the new athletic director at Lynchburg College on Thursday.

toms, a Bedford native, had been serving as the college's interim athletic director for the past year.

"This is something I never envisioned," Toms said. "I figure that I would stay here a couple of years, get some experience and move on, but I've falled in love with this place."

Toms received his undergraduate degree from Lynchburg in 1969, then earned his masters from Virginia. A doctorate in athletic administration followed at West virginia University.
