FURNITURE COMPANY POSTS REWARD ON RECORDS THEFT

The downtown furniture-manufacturing company's main office was broken into between 1 and 5 a.m. Thursday. Corporate records and some employee payroll information were taken, said Ira "Pete" Crawford, vice president of administration.

Their value, Crawford said, "depends on whose hands that information is in."

The reward will be paid to the person who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible, Crawford said.

"It's got us sort of scratching our heads," he said. "But we're greatly concerned about it. That's why we're willing to pay the $10,000."

Pulaski police Lt. Barry Buckner said police were looking at a few possible suspects, but no immediate arrests were expected.

Two security guards were on duty at the time but did not see anyone. Crawford said the guards noticed about 5 a.m. that one of the offices had been broken into and notified police.

Crawford said it appeared entry was gained into the grounds under a fence and then through a warehouse area that led to the corporate offices.

He said there were some security cameras in place and police were looking at the film Friday.
