ARMSTRONG, MERLE A.\ LEXINGTON - Miss Merle A. Armstrong, age 68, died Saturday in Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio. She was born in Rockbridge County August 5, 1921, and was preceded in death by her parents, Hampton and Lucy Irvine Armstrong; and one brother, Kenton Armstrong. She is survived by a devoted friend, Pete Shaffer; and a godson, Brian Wilhelm, both of Kettering, Ohio; and numerous cousins; and other relatives. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
