OBIT-MITCHEM, M.

Mark Mitchem, age 74, of 5729 Merriman Rd., S.W., died Monday in a local hospital. He retired from Norfolk & Western Railway as a Yard Engineer. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Arthur Mitchem, Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Ann Mitchem, Roanoke; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and John Hamilton, Moneta; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Michael Mitchem, Roanoke; two stepgrandchildren, Tammy Hamilton, Salem; Todd Hamilton, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Mr. Elwood McAllister officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Friends may call after 12:00 Noon Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
