VOLUNTEERS WANTED BY ACTION CENTER

The Roanoke Valley's Voluntary Action Center is observing National Volunteer Week by trying to recruit 500 new volunteers by Friday.

Geri Muller, director of the volunteer clearinghouse, estimates that there are 89,000 volunteers in the valley. Anyone who wants to volunteer through the center can call 985-0131.
