Arby's Inc., an Atlanta fast-food chain, said it is expanding a credit-card test program with a satellite broadcasting system providing authorization of credit cards in less than three seconds. The chain accepts credit cards in Cleveland and Phoenix, and it is testing them in Pittsburgh and Youngstown.

The Sheraton Airport Plaza Hotel in Charlotte, N.C., operated by Krisch Hotels of Roanoke, has received an award for excellence in food and beverage operations from the Sheraton Corp. The 226-room hotel has a convention center that accommodates up to 700 people.

Twenty-five workers will lose their jobs this month when Shaffer's Inc. In Woodstock, shuts down its egg-processing and distributing business, the company's general manager said. The business has agreed to sell the processing and distributing operation to Glenwood Farms in Amelia County, manager George Shaffer said Monday.
