CAVE SPRING REACHES STATE SOFTBALL FINAL

Cave Spring won two games Thursday to reach the final of the state Senior Little League softball tournament.

In the opener, Renee Kopstein pitched Cave Spring to an 8-4 win over Lynchburg. Amy Hollar and Nikki Clowers had two hits each.

In the second game, Cave Spring trailed 9-1 in the third inning and came back to defeat Mechanicsville 22-17. Leah Daigle was the winning pitcher. Courtney McDaniel had a single and a three-run homer, Jennie Callio had three hits and Nikki Clowers, Shannon Crowder and Angie Repass had two hits each.

Tonight, Cave Spring plays Azalea Little League of Norfolk. - Staff report
