SCYPHERS, LOWRY S.

Mr. Lowry Shuler Scyphers, age 67, of Moneta, formerly of Roanoke, died Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, Lena Woolwine Scyphers; his children, Ona Neil Gillespie, Texas; David and Punky Scyphers, Wanda Cuckler, Rodney Scyphers, Naomi and Fred Arrington, all of Roanoke; his sister, Elizabeth Scott; two sisters-in-law, Ann Scyphers and Vada Scyphers, all of Bristol, Va.; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Lotz Roanoke Chapel by the Rev. Melvin Harris and Rev. Michael Palmer, with burial in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lotz Funeral Home, Franklin Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Halesford Baptist Church Building Fund., Rt. 1, Box 152, Wirt, Va. 24184.
