CHARLOTTE COMPANY TAKES OVER MANAGEMENT OF UNFINISHED CENTERS

Faison Associates, a Charlotte, N.C. commercial real estate company, has taken over leasing and management of two area shopping centers, the Market Place in Christiansburg and the Hunting Hills Plaza in Roanoke.

Repair and construction work began earlier this month on the unfinished, partly empty shopping centers, said Bill Moseley, the company's retail leasing manager.

"What we're looking at is completing the projects as soon as possible," Moseley said.

He said he has commitments from local tenants for the unfinished wing of the Market Place and potential takers for other empty stores in both centers.

NCNB Corp., also based in Charlotte, foreclosed on the properties in December after BD&E, the Nashville developer, fell behind in real-estate taxes and contractors bills.

Moseley said his firm was hired in mid-January to complete the projects. At Hunting Hills, crews have repaired the parking lot surface and canopy lighting fixtures.

At the Market Place, some of the store fronts should be finished by mid-April, Moseley said. - New River Valley bureau
