Mr. William Lewis Helms (Hookie), age 76, of Salem passed away Thursday, February 21, 1991. He was retired from Associated Transport and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Salem. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beulah Huff Helms; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Carl Bradford, Betty and Harry Underwood, Allene and Tony DeLeo; three grandsons; and two granddaughters, Charles and Robin Underwood, Ricky and Diane Bohon, Darrell Lee Williams; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Austin and Heather Shay Underwood; two sisters-in-law, Ann Painter and Rose Huff; two brothers-in-law, Luther R. Huff and Lewis I. Huff; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem with Dr. Elwood White and the Rev. J.R. Farrington officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
