$6 MILLION CANDY PLANT PLANNED FOR CAROLINE

Russell Stover Candies Inc. has announced plans to build a $6 million distribution plant in Caroline County.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based candy maker said Friday it would begin construction on a 121,000-square-foot building in the next couple of months. The plant would be in the new 104-acre Carmel Church Business Centre off Interstate 95.

The company also operates a candy manufacturing plant in Clarksville, employing 700 to 800 workers. Candy made at the Clarksville plant will be shipped to the Caroline center, which is scheduled to be completed in March 1992. - Associated Press
