OUTDOOR PROS IN SPORTS SHOW

The fourth annual Western Virginia Sport Show will feature a number of hunting and fishing pros Friday through Sunday at the Augusta Expoland.

Produced by big-game outfitter Mark Hanger of Churchville, the event has become a major outdoor attraction in Virginia. The sponsor this year is Paul Butski, a world-class turkey caller and owner of Butski's Game Calls. Butski will conduct a National Turkey Federation sanctioned calling contest, Hanger said.

The show also will feature a big-buck contest, using the national Boone and Crockett scoring system.

Scheduled to appear for seminars are Bob Foulkrod, international bowhunter, Dr. Stacey Groscup, archery trick shooter, Billy McCoy, 1990 world champion owl hooter, Linda Leisure, owner of the country's largest deer scent lure company and Monty Atkins, champion American Bass Association angler.

The show includes displays of equipment, outfitters and big game trophies, Hanger said.

Show hours are noon to 9 p.m. Friday; 9 to 9 Saturday and noon to 6:30 Sunday. Augusta Expoland is reached by taking Exit 16 off Interstate 64 just east of Interstate 81.
