COUNTRY SINGER WEBB PIERCE DIES

Webb Pierce, a high-pitched singer who dominated country music in the 1950s with such hit records as "In the Jailhouse Now," "Honky Tonk Song" and "Wondering," died Sunday at age 65.

Pierce died apparently of congestive heart failure. He suffered from pancreatic cancer.
