VMI WINS CONFERENCE TRACK MEET

VMI's depth paid off with the men's Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday and the Keydets' Mike Bozeman was named coach of the year.

VMI outscored second-place Appalachian State 157-104. East Tennessee State (76) was next, followed by Marshall (74), Western Carolina (42), The Citadel (30), Tennessee-Chattanooga (16) and Furman (7).

VMI had two double winners: Esteban Frost (long jump, 400 meters) and Jeff Rudolph (800 meters, 2-mile relay). Frost also finished in a tie with ETSU's Seamus Power and ASU's Frank Allen for most versatile athletes.
