MAN SHOT TWICE; NO MOTIVE KNOWN

A 19-year-old Northwest Roanoke man was in stable condition after being shot twice with a handgun Wednesday night.

Mickey E. Clements of the 3300 block of Ferncliff Avenue was being treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was shot in the shoulder and back, Roanoke police Lt. R.L. Ross said.

No arrests had been made Wednesday night and the investigation was continuing. Ross said police had not established a motive for the 6:52 p.m. shooting.
