PROSECUTION RESTS CASE IN TRIPLE SLAYING

The prosecution rested its case Wednesday in the abduction and murder trial of Chander "Bobby" Matta, who is charged in the slayings of three prostitutes.

Matta, 22, has admitted killing Sandra Johnson; Sherry Larman, 26; and Jodie Phillips, 16, last Memorial Day weekend.

For five hours Wednesday, jurors heard and saw graphic testimony from detectives about how the victims were strangled.

Defense attorney William Moffitt claimed Tuesday that Matta suffered from insanity brought on by college hazing. - Associated Press
