VOLUNTEERS READY TO HELP WITH TAXES

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service, and Tax Counseling for the Elderly, sponsored by the League of Older Americans, are providing free assistance to low-income, elderly and handicapped individuals.

They are in their 23rd year of service to taxpayers.

Volunteers are trained by the IRS and must pass an examination.

Those using the service are asked to bring a copy of their 1989 tax return.
