George Burns may be old, but he has a new contract in Las Vegas.

The cigar-chomping comic signed an exclusive two-year pact with the Riviera Hotel and Casino, his manager said in Los Angeles on Monday.

Neither manager Irving Fein, nor Sam Distefano, vice president of entertainment at the Riviera, would divulge the value of the contract.

The 95-year-old entertainer is scheduled to appear April 18-21 with Pia Zadora. He will return Oct. 31 for another four-show run ending Nov. 3.

Burns, who won an Academy Award for his role in "The Sunshine Boys," had a five-year contract with Caesars Palace, but it expired shortly after the comedian's 95th birthday in January.

The Riviera offered Burns a five-year contract, Distefano said, but Burns turned it down. Burns' reply, according to Distefano, was: " `If you're still around at the end of the two years, we'll talk again.' "

\ MC Hammer says his own childhood helps him understand the plight of Australia's street kids.

Hammer, along with the sponsors of his current tour, donated $7,700 Monday to Melbourne's Open Family Foundation, which has helped homeless youngsters for 13 years.

"I know how tough it is to grow up and I know how tough it is for parents," said Hammer, America's biggest selling artist last year and a three-time Grammy Award winner. "That's why I am willing to help."

Hammer, 27, said he grew up among drugs and violence in Oakland, Calif., and now tries to help America's street kids keep away from drugs.

\ Michael J. Fox can still play 20-year-olds on screen, but with a 30th birthday in June, he no longer wants to.

The baby-faced actor has told his production company, Snowback Productions, to find him roles that match his age, Us magazine said in its April 4 issue.

Fox said marriage and the birth of his son, Sam, now 21 months old, have helped him mature.

"You lose the arrogance of youth. You take a look at old people and say, `Yeah, I can actually see that as a possibility now.' It will be fun to say I'm 30."
