POLICE CHARGE STEPSON IN MURDER WITH PICKAX

A Prince William man killed by blows from a pickax had been released from jail four days earlier after serving time on a domestic assault and battery charge, a jail spokeswoman said Monday.

Police charged the man's 15-year-old stepson with murder, Prince William police Sgt. Barry Barnard said.

Charles Francis Whisenant, 35, died after repeated blows to the head and chest with a pickax and possibly a knife during Saturday's fight in the family home, Barnard said.
