HOTINGER, KENTON M.

LEXINGTON - Kenton Montgomery Hotinger, age 75, of Collierstown departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 1991 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born November 26, 1915, he was the son of the late R. W. and Ora Hill Hotinger. Kenton was a Rockbridge County farmer and cattle dealer all of his life, an active life member of the Collierstown Presbyterian Church. He served as Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher and most recently Sunday School Secretary, Usher and Cemetery Trustee. He was a charter member of the Effinger Ruritan Club and served two terms as President. He served on the ASCS Committee and was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Virginia Cattleman's Association. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Agnes Leech Hotinger; one son, James Calvin Hotinger, Playe del Rey, Calif.; two brothers, Wilton Abraham Hotinger, Lexington; Eugene Hill Hotinger, Glasgow; seven sisters, Lillian H. Potter, Waynesboro; Allene H. Cummings, Lexington; Ora Lee Hepner, Woodstock; Nancy H. Sheldon, Lake Wales, Fla.; Nellie H. Leech, Lexington; Mildred H. Huffman, Lexington; Ruby H. Brankley, Richmond; special friend and employee, C. Larry Reid; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 1991 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert S. Miles and Dr. William A. Cole, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations to be made to the Collierstown Presbyterian Church, Lexington First Aid Crew or the Effinger Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
