TIGERS SCORE 8 IN 8TH, BEAT GENERALS 9-5

Hampden-Sydney scored eight unearned runs in the eighth inning and went on to a 9-5 Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball victory over Washington and Lee on Tuesday.

The Generals (5-3 overall, 1-3 in ODAC) led 4-1 after seven innings but committed two errors in the eighth. The Tigers (9-2, 2-0) sent 12 to bat in the inning, highlighted by Mark Milam's two-run triple.

Scott Spears (3-0) struck out eight for the Tigers and batted 3-for-5.

W&L was led by T.J. Daly, who was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
