MILLER, RUSSIE H.

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Mrs. Russie Holder Stout Miller, age 89, of the Evergreens, Inc., formerly of Morehead Court Apartments, died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday in High Point Regional Hospital. She had been in declining health for several years and seriously ill three weeks. Mrs. Miller was born April 30, 1901, in Randolph County, a daughter of Charles L. and Flora Hines Holder. She had been a resident of High Point for thirteen years, coming here from Roanoke, Va. She was employed by Thurman & Boone Upholstery Company in Roanoke for fifteen years until her retirement. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church in Roanoke. Twice married, she was first married to Burnice C. Stout, Sr. who died December 27, 1958. She later married James H. Miller, who died June 2, 1976. Surviving are one son, B. C. Stout, Jr. of Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Jesse (Ollie) Carroll of Jamestown; Mrs. Worth (Nell) Nance of Greensboro; and Mrs. Roy C. (Gladys) Beasley of 823 Arbordale dr.,; two brothers, V. C. Holder of Morehead Court Apts; and Willard O. Holder of New London; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Sechrest Chapel on E. Lexington Ave. by Paul H. Smith. Burial will be in Fairfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday night from 7:00 until 9:00. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Christian Church in Roanoke, Va.
