REVERSE DECISION ON RACING AT STADIUM

AMONG other city residents, I oppose automobile racing at Victory Stadium. Damage to the stadium will be inevitable no matter how much protection Whitey Taylor plans.

The pavement is made for running track events, not for automobiles. The noise will be loud regardless of mufflers. These do fall off, but will cars be allowed to continue if they lose or rupture a muffler?

I don't think patients and personnel at Roanoke Memorial or the residents of South Roanoke should have to put up with this. With the other events at the stadium, will the city be able to transform the race track back into its original state? I don't think so. I believe the city should reverse its decision. JOHN P.
