BASSETT HIGH RAPE REPORTED

A Bassett High School student has been charged with sexual assault in an alleged rape at the school Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred in a bathroom, said Henry County Sheriff H.F. Cassell. No witnesses had come forward, he said.

The charged student was taken to the W.W. Moore Detention Center in Danville, Cassell said.

Cassell declined to release the name or age of the student because he is a juvenile. No court date was set.
