LONG-TERM CARE SEMINAR PLANNED

A free seminar on long-term care insurance is scheduled Jan. 20 at the Roanoke Airport Marriott Hotel.

The seminar, sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia, begins at 6:30 p.m.

"Educating consumers about long-term care and long-term care insurance is a challenge because many Americans mistakenly believe long term care is provided through the federal Medicare program," said Randy Starns, Blue Cross' chief marketing officer for government and individual business.

The seminar will inform consumers how to protect their assets from the "crippling cost of long-term care," Starns said.
