AKERS, ELLIS C.

FLOYD - Ellis Cambridge Akers, age 73, passed away Sunday in the Radford Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Carrie) Akers, Floyd; four sons, L. Cambridge Akers, Indianapolis, Ind.; Charles K. Akers, North Bergen, N.J.; the Rev. Dennis M. Akers, Floyd; Bryant E. Akers, Floyd; one daughter, Constance A. Shelton, Martinsville; one sister, Beatrice A. Penn, Floyd; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Manuel Spencer officiating. Interment will be in Floyd Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 at Gardner's Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd.
