HENNING, GEORGE H.

George H. Henning, age 82, passed away January 16, 1992. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn.; was a graduate of Central High School. He received his B.C.S. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a Charter Member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Chapter of Drake University. He retired after 36 years of service with George A. Hormel Company. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Hunter Henning; two sons, Dr. George D. Henning and his wife, Edna, Roanoke; Richard G. Henning and his wife, Pam, Moline, Ill.; four grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-grandson. He was past president of Euclid Lutheran Church of Euclid, Ohio; Past President of the Hiram Club of Euclid. He was a Life Member of Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge #324 and the Roanoke Scottish Rite and Kazim Temple. Mr. Henning was Past President of Kazim Chanters and Kazim Golf Club; past member of Hidden Valley Country Club. He was a Charter Member of the Euclid Shrine Club and a member of the Roanoke Lodge #197 B.P.O.E. Funeral services will be held at Saint Marks Luthern Church, 1:00 p.m. Saturday with Dr. Charles W. Easley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park with Masonic Grave Rites. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Oakey's South Chapel. Because of his concern for others, George requested no flowers, rather memorial gifts may be made to the Salvation Army, City Rescue Mission, Saint Marks Lutheran Church or the Shrine Crippled Childrens Hospital.
