BREWER, DR. ELI J.

Dr. Eli J. Brewer, age 82, of Roanoke, died in a Salem Hospital Thursday, January 16, 1992. He served as a Pharmacist in Philadelphia before entering the Army during World War II where he received the Presidential Citation. After World War II, he graduated from Temple University School of Podiatry and was a Podiatrist in the Roanoke Valley for over 35 years. He was past president of B'Nai B'Rith, a member of Beth Israel Congregation and a member of the Elk's Club. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Julius (Mary B.) Fisher, Roanoke; Mrs. Sidney (Julia) B. Goldman, Palm Beach, Fla.; two nieces, one nephew and their spouses, Sarah Louise Fisher and Robert Pearlman, Greensboro, N.C.; Jeffrey and Cheryl Goldman, Long Island, N.Y.; Tina and Jordy Kleiner, Carl Springs, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday by Rabbi Jerome Fox. Burial will be in Beth Israel Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
