'86 CAMARO ONCE AGAIN NATION'S HOTTEST HOT CAR

The 1986 Chevrolet Camaro remains the undisputed darling of the hot car set. That's "hot" as in stolen.

The '86 Camaro was the most-stolen car in 1991, for the fifth year in a row, according to CCC Information Services Inc., a company that provides vehicle valuations for insurance companies.

In fact, the three most stolen cars of 1991 also were the top three in the year before. The '86 Camaro was followed by the '84 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and the '87 Camaro.

Cars are stolen mostly for their parts, William Geen, CCC's senior vice president, said Monday.

The most-stolen foreign carwas the '88 Hyundai Excel GL, followed by the '87 Excel and the '83 Toyota Corolla. - Associated Press
