VIRGINIA BADLY NEEDS A GOVERNOR

WHAT A CHARMING liar Mr. Wilder is. Look at him smiling on the front page of the Jan. 10 paper, saying, "I can't run the state and run for president; I've never run for office before and not devoted full time to it."

Since he's been in office, I haven't seen him at home to devote any time to anything concerning the state of Virginia. He's a lot like Jim and Tammy Bakker - so charming, full of lies, and has people eating out of his hands. The state of Virginia needs a governor bad, not a playboy and world traveler with new limos, spending the taxpayer's money left and right on everything but the state.

I didn't vote for Wilder, thank goodness, and you can believe I never will. We need someone who will look out for the good of the commonwealth, decrease unemployment, better education for our children, etc., not blow the state's money on his personal pleasures. JOYCE ALLEN ROANOKE
