NAMES & CHANGES

Carter names parts manager

JOHN BATZEL has been named general parts manager of Carter Machinery Co. in Salem. He will be responsible for all of the company's parts operations, including its construction, lift truck and engine divisions. He formerly was a store manager for Carter's Chesapeake location.

BANKING

\ MARY D. TABOR has been promoted to an assistant vice president with Central Fidelity Bank. She joined the bank in 1988 and is a commercial lender for the Roanoke area.

\ STEPHANIE L. FULL and LINDA JAMERSON and CARLOTTA R. ALLEYNE have been promoted\ to officers with Central Fidelity Bank. Full is the trainer for the\ Southwestern Region of Virginia. Jamerson is a specialist in the banking\ support services department. Alleyne is regional facilities supervisor.

MANUFACTURING

\ A.M. "LON" ROLLINSON has been appointed paper process manager with Westvaco's mill expansion team. A Westvaco employee for 12 years, he most recently was a development supervisor.

\ STEVEN H. PARKER has been named paper mill department supervisor at Westvaco's Covington mill. He most recently was senior engineer on the No. 1 paper machine.

\ GREGORY J. PARKER has been named controller of Grogran Paper & Packaging in Winston-Salem, N.C. He is former chief executive officer of the Roanoke Fish and Oyster Co.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Roanoke Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers has elected officers: president, MIKE HURD, Whitescarver-Rhodes & Associates; president-elect, KAREN WHITE, B&K Design; vice president, BILL CLENDENIN, Hayes, Seay, Mattern and Mattern; secretary, CLAYTON PREASE, Appalachian Power Co.; treasurer, BOYD HEADLEY, Whitescarver- hodes & Associates; and governors, JOHN BRENEMAN, Sherertz, Franklin, Crawford and Shaffner; ALLEN CROCKER, Hayes, Seay, Mattern and Mattern; and LOUIS HITE, Johnson Controls.

\ DR. HUBERT E. KISER JR. of Bluefield has been elected to the House of Delegates of the American Association of Orthodontists. He will represent 1,630 members of the Southern Association of Orthodontists in 11 southeastern states.

\ DR. ALONZO H. MYERS JR. has been appointed an associate councilor for Virginia by the Southern Medical Association. He is an orthopaedic surgeon at Lewis-Gale Clinic in Salem.

\ DR. JOHN ALBERT HAGY of Roanoke has been appointed to the Commission on Education of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

RADIO

\ RUSS BROWN has been appointed operations manager at WXLK-K92. He was K92's first general manager from 1980 through 1986 and most recently was operations manager for WMXB-B103 in Richmond.

RETAIL

\ DAVID L. DIESEL of Radford has been named a sales representative in Roanoke for Janssen Pharmaceutical of Piscataway, N.J. He previously worked in the admissions office of Radford University.

\ BRIAN H. DAVIS has been named head of restaurant operations at Jefferson Motor Lounge in Roanoke. He will supervise all aspects of food service, administration, hospitality, marketing and banquet planning. He most recently was lodging director and meals supervisor for the Virginia Commonwealth Games.

\ ROBERT M. BROWN, president of R.M. Brown & Associates, has been appointed sales and marketing agent for Bell & Howell micrographics products in the Roanoke area.

\ ROBERT F. NAY has been named director of marketing for Roanoke and Botetourt Telephone Co. and its affiliate, The Beeper Co. He formerly was with Landmark Communications.
