ALL-CHANGE DEPOSIT UNWELCOME AT BANK

FOR SOME reason, I've always thought banks wanted your business and savings, but the other day I found out otherwise. My bank of four years refused to accept my deposit because it was in change.

It seems to me that money issued by the U.S. government should be recognized in all establishments, especially financial institutions. The bank was ever so nice when I borrowed money for my car and boat.

For those people like me who toss their change in a cup at the end of the day, or the very young saver who may only have coins: Don't waste your time taking it to the smiling teller. Spend it or give it to charity. I'm sure they won't care if it's nickels, dimes and quarters. JEFF DALTON ROANOKE
