HUNTER, RICHARD G.

Richard Gordon (Rick) Hunter, age 44 of Catawba, died Friday in a local hospital. He was a graduate of Cave Spring High School and the Maryland Institute, College of Art, receiving a B.F.A. degree. Mr. Hunter was associated with Ewald-Clark, Inc. since 1973 and served as general manager during recent years. He was a photography sailing and horse enthusiast who enjoyed an active life with his wife, family and numerous friends. He took special pride and pleasure in his rural homeplace and beloved pets. Surviving are his wife, Helen Robertson Hunter; parents, Gordon S. and Gertrude H. Hunter, Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Nina Hunter and Tim S. Wagner, brother and sister-in-law, Edwin P. and Amy C. Hunter, brother-in-law, David M. Robertson, nephew, Steven Wagner, niece, Erin Wagner, all of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Craig County Rescue Squad, the S.P.C.A. or a favorite charity. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Thomas P. O'dell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel.
