OBIT GREEN, M.

GREEN, MORONI C. Moroni C. Green, age 77 of Cedar Avenue, Vinton, died Sunday at his home. He was a lifetime member of the Vinton Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a founding and charter member of the Vinton Lifesaving Crew and was actively involved in the formation of Boy Scout Troops in the Vinton area. He was retired from the Roanoke County Commissioner of Revenue office as a tax consultant. Surviving are his wife, Louise Reynolds Green; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth G. and Douglas T. Gresham, Montvale; Alice G. and Dan C. Griffin, Long Beach, N.C.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mrs. Virginia G. Summers, Vinton; Mrs. Edna G. Stone, Portland, Ore.; Iona G. and Harold M. Ayers, Vinton. Funeral services will be conducted from the Vinton Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 1992 with Bishop Wayne M. Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Vinton Lifesaving Crew. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday.
