REDUCE, THEN STOP ALL FOREIGN AID

THE MASSIVE amount of money this nation has given away in foreign aid since 1946 (more than $286 billion) has contributed enormously to the national debt, currently $3.5 trillion.

This debt has interest payments that now cost each household more than $2,146 each year (assuming 100 million households) to pay the $214 billion interest, as reported in your paper.

Reducing and then eliminating all foreign aid is one way to service this. JOHN N. YAUGER ROANOKE
