RESTAURANT REOPENING MONTHS AFTER MASSACRE

Workers completed retraining and suppliers delivered food for the reopening today of the cafeteria where 24 people died in the nation's worst mass murder.

Luby's Cafeteria Inc. planned to reopen its remodeled Killeen restaurant before lunch hour, without any ceremony.

The company received more than 300 requests to reopen the restaurant, a popular gathering spot in the city of 63,000.

About 150 people were there on Oct. 16 when 35-year-old George Hennard plowed his pickup into the dining room and went on a 15-minute rampage.

Using two semiautomatic pistols, he killed 23 people before killing himself. - Associated Press
