DOUGLAS PITCHES TECH PAST DETROIT MERCY 6-1

Robby Douglas pitched a five-hitter and Virginia Tech knocked off Detroit Mercy 6-1 Wednesday in the Hall of Fame college baseball tournament at Georgia Southern University.

After giving up a lead-off single, Douglas (3-0) retired 17 of 18 batters. He walked two and struck out five in the complete game.
